Late October 2025 Update

We’re racing toward the end of Halloween month, but thankfully around here, horror fiction is a year-round event. But for in-person events, that’s a wrap on this year! Next place you’ll find me is MystiCon in late January.

But virtually, I had the pleasure of returning to the Books in the Freezer podcast. This is one of the best places for book recs, and I had a blast chatting with Stephanie about my recent collection Teenage Girls Can Be Demons along with talking about books and movies that fit the theme, coming-of-rage.

And with another release inbound March 3rd from Bad Hand Books, it only made sense to come back to The Bad Signal to talk about the upcoming return to print of my noir/horror/dark fantasy novel No Gods for Drowning, along with chatting about the new cover by Anna Chiara Stagi, and my recent releases A Game in Yellow and Teenage Girls Can Be Demons. Three very different books, so it was fun getting to hop between them in one discussion!

Also, my 2022 story “Hollywood Werewolf Conspiracy” was recently read aloud on Cool Zone Media Book Club, so give it a listen!

Lastly, A Game in Yellow made the Men’s Health article “The 52 Best Horror Books of 2025” alongside works by Jenny Kiefer, Cynthia Pelayo, Gretchen Felker-Martin, Isabel Canas, Stephen King, Stephen Graham Jones, and more. It’s been another beautiful year for horror, and it’s lovely seeing my strange erotic cosmic novel among these.

TGONG pre-orders return!

You might have noticed that the pre-orders page for The Ghostlands of Natalie Glasgow disappeared for a few weeks. Rooster Republic was doing some remodeling.

But it’s back now! The limited edition hardcover is up for order once again. Gathering The Possession of Natalie Glasgow alongside six all-new interconnected stories, the hardcover is up for order until April 30th. After that, it will no longer be available, but there’s still plenty of time before then.

Also, I was recently at the Scarelastic Book Fair in McCordsville, Indiana and it was wonderful. If you have a chance next year, check it out!

Next event: I’ll be at AuthorCon 3 in Williamsburg, Virginia from April 12th-14th. Hope to see you there!

Events, upcoming books 2024

A few quick things!

This weekend (Saturday, March 2nd) I’ll be in McCordsville, Indiana at the Scarlet Lane Brewing Company for the Scarelastic Book Fair with plenty of cool horror folk. It’s going to be a fantastic time!

Also, look what’s arrived!

These are the copies of Cranberry Cove pre-ordered directly from the publisher, Bad Hand Books. There are a couple hundred to sign, and then hopefully they’ll be getting out before the April 2nd release date. Can’t wait for the doors to open on this abandoned hotel. It’s also still up for pre-order at Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Lastly, and perhaps out of the usual chronology (fitting for the Worm series), Song of the Tyrant Worm audiobook is up for pre-order. The other format pre-orders are still to come, but if audio is your jam, you can find this one on Libro.FM.

Upcoming: AuthorCon 2023

AuthorCon 2023 is coming to Williamsburg, Virginia, from March 31st to April 2nd, a charity event and convention hosted by Scares That Care. I’ll be there signing books, selling books, talking horror, all kinds of cool stuff as one of the guests of honor (see the full roster over at the site, and get tickets!). Hope to see you there!

In other news, the paperback pre-order for Even the Worm Will Turn is up at Barnes & Noble. Book 2 of The Worm and His Kings series releases April 22nd from Off Limits Press!

April News

A little bit of news! A few days ago I appeared at AuthorCon, a new branch of Scares That Care, where I had the fortune of being a guest of honor alongside authors like Mary SanGiovanni, S.A. Cosby, Wrath James White, Josh Malerman, Grady Hendrix, C.V. Hunt, and more! It was my first public signing, first in-person reading, first in-personal, and it was all wonderful! Everyone was kind and patient, and it was just a lovely time all around. I  also had a very cool sign designed by Cassie of Let’s Get Galactic:

In sadder news, due to production circumstances, “Unkindly Girls” will no longer be adapted as part of the film version of Worst Laid Plans. I wish everyone working on the movie the best. Film rights have been returned to me, so maybe “Unkindly Girls” will see the screen someday down a different avenue.

Lastly, I’ve signed with Death’s Head Press to publish three upcoming chapbooks! More details to come when available, but prepare for an ill-fated trio of queer horror and weird crime. On the Splatter Western, Death’s Head Press is all set to publish my third novel Cruel Angels Past Sundown in early 2023.

Lots of good thing to come!
