Announcement

Queen of Teeth paperback cover, date

Some Queen of Teeth updates! Firstly, the order period for the hardcover is almost up. After June, no more hardcovers will be for sale, so order while there’s still time. Hardcovers will ship out in midsummer.

Next, Rooster Republic Press has revealed the paperback cover art by Don Noble and the paperback’s release date of November 1, 2021! They’re exploring doing reduced price paperback pre-orders this summer, so more on that when info is available.

“A powerful, beautiful horror story.” – Kirkus in a starred review

I was also recently on a couple podcasts to discuss my new collection Unfortunate Elements of My Anatomy, which is also now available on Bookshop. Check out the episodes of Cursed Morsels in April and Deadhead Space in May.

Representation announcement; The Worm and His Kings audiobook and nomination

This is a busy one, and every piece of is tremendous.

I’m delighted to announce I’m now represented by Karmen Wells at The Rights Factory for Film/TV. Karmen is a joy to work with, and I can’t wait to share what’s ahead.

On April 22, Fireside Horror released the audiobook production for last year’s queer cosmic horror novella The Worm and His Kings. Narrated by Allyson Voller, it’s a beautiful reading perfect both for new readers and those who’ve already joined the Worm’s faithful. Check it out.

And two days later, the final ballot was announced for This Is Horror Awards 2020, with The Worm and His Kings appearing as a nominee for Novella of the Year along with four other stellar titles. I cannot thank people enough for all their enthusiasm toward this weird little beast. Voting goes until May 22.

Novel Announcement: A LIGHT MOST HATEFUL

While my first novel, Queen of Teeth, is still heading your way later this year, plans are already in motion for 2022.

April 10, 2022, Off Limits Press will be publishing my second novel, A Light Most Hateful! I’m psyched to be working with them again, and I can’t wait to share this new mind-bender of weird horror with you.

Also, I missed posting a link to when Gordon B. White interviewed me for Nightmare Magazine on my first published book with Off Limits Press, The Worm and His Kings (and about other things too). This was a thorough and interesting bunch of questions! Find the interview here.

Worst Laid Plans: The Movie; Book announcement

Two fantastic announcements!

First, last year’s hit Grindhouse Press anthology Worst Laid Plans is getting a film adaptation, and one of the stories included will be my coming-of-age horror tale “Unkindly Girls.”

Second, I’ll be joining the roster at Death’s Head Press in their splatter western series in 2022. Look for more news such as title, cover art, and release date to come!

The Worm and His Kings early reviews; Novel announcement

Less than a month to go until The Worm and His Kings releases on November 15, 2020! There’s still time to pre-order a paperback from the publisher and the ebook from Amazon.

Early reviews are already coming in from Goodreads and iHorror!

And then another announcement:

I’ve signed with Rooster Republic/Strangehouse Books to publish my body horror novel as part of their 2021 line-up! Check out the press release snippet from the publisher:

“Hailey Piper … has signed on to release a new horror novel through Strangehouse Books, and this is one hell of a manuscript. We are tempted to call the book “Cronenbergian” but we aren’t sure that really does the story justice. It’s more than that. This book will knock yer socks off. It’ll be getting the hardcover treatment, as well, and we’ll have further announcements over the next couple of months. But, go ahead and get excited.”

Title, cover art, and release date to be announced. Stay tuned! This one has teeth.

The Worm and His Kings – cover reveal, synopsis, release date

I’m thrilled to show the cover art for The Worm and His Kings, my new novella releasing from Off Limits Press on November 15, 2020. A work of queer cosmic horror that’s up on Goodreads, I can’t wait to share the story with you later this year.

From the back cover:

New York City, 1990: When you slip through the cracks, no one is there to catch you.  Monique learns that the hard way after her girlfriend Donna vanishes without a trace.

Only after the disappearances of several other impoverished women does Monique hear the rumors. A taloned monster stalks the city’s underground and snatches victims into the dark.

Donna isn’t missing. She was taken.

To save the woman she lives, Monique must descender deeper than the known underground, into a subterranean world of enigmatic cultists and shadowy creatures. But what she finds looms beyond her wildest fears–a darkness that stretches from the dawn of time and across the stars.

Coming in 2020, Benny Rose: The Cannibal King

One more Halloween announcement–fitting because October 31st is his day.

Benny Rose: The Cannibal King will be released by Unnerving on January 23rd, 2020.  Does his name sound familiar?  All the kids of Blackwood, Vermont tell his stories, sing his songs, keep alive the memory of a man who never existed … or did he?

There will be more updates to come as the release date draws closer, but for now feast your eyes on the cover art.

And dread the legend of the Cannibal King.
